Sports Bulletin - March 2017

Welcome back to our Sports newsletter, keeping everybody up to date with the latest news and achievements from the Norfolk Primary Sports School of the Year!

Great displays by the Year 3 and 4 Girls Football teams last week earned two of our teams places in the Norfolk County Finals at the end of April. Our teams finished in 1st and 2nd place in the competition held at Lynn Grove. They will now continue to practice and improve for the finals! This is the second year running we have qualified after last years’ team won silver medals in the County Finals.

Football results have been as follows:

U11 Boys 5-1 St Mary’s. U11 Girls 3-1 Hillside. U10 Boys 1-4 Hillside. U10 Boys 5-2 Year 4 Boys.

Both the U11 teams currently sit top of their leagues with each having 3 games to play. The U10 development team are playing great football against some strong teams and continue to improve.

We once again won one fixture in the Norfolk Basketball League.

Keep an eye out for the new clubs letter after half term. There will be a few changes, with Cross Country taking a break for the rest of the academic year, and clubs such as Cricket being introduced. The ‘Mini World Cup’ will be back and sure to cause excitement.

Thank you for your support in buying the Sports School of the Year hoodies. We will be putting in an order for 81 of them! Finally, we will be training new playmakers from Year 5 after Easter to be leaders in Sport for the rest of their time at Woodlands. Thank you to the current Year 6 playmakers who do a wonderful job.
